In the pursuit of creating beautiful and sustainable landscapes, leveraging local plant resources is essential. On our island, we are fortunate to have a diverse array of native Hawaiian plants that not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of any yard but also support the local ecosystem. These plants are uniquely adapted to the island's environment.
We are actively seeking partnerships within our community. If you or anyone you know on the island has native plants or trees available for sale, we encourage you to reach out to our company. By collaborating with local growers, we aim to support sustainable gardening practices and celebrate the beauty of our natural landscape. Together, we can foster a vibrant, thriving environment that pays homage to the unique botanical heritage of our island home.
At Small Fox Landscaping, we are deeply committed to preserving Molokai’s natural beauty and native trees. We are fully aware of the serious threat posed by the Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (CRB), which has devastated palm trees across Oʻahu, Maui, Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi Island, and most recently Lānaʻi — but has not yet been detected on Molokai .
In light of this, we’ve taken proactive steps to ensure our landscaping practices do not contribute to the beetle’s spread. We do not use or transport high-risk materials such as mulch, compost, or palm products from other islands, especially those known to be infested. We fully support community efforts and proposed emergency rules to restrict the movement of CRB host materials to Molokai .
Protecting Molokai’s environment, cultural heritage, and food security is our top priority. We stand with our community in keeping Molokai CRB-free.
